Only the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve seen a Mullins Red Cap trailer in this thread
This car must have had a really short driveshaft!
I believe that's driver Carl Scarborough at Indy in 1951 in the first attached photo. He's talking to track owner Tony Hulman and crooner Rudy Vallee on the right. I'm not sure about the lady. Tony Hulman and Vallee had attended Yale University together.
I'm guessing the second photo was taken around 1965. And because of the front roll hoop on the nose of the sprint car this may be an IMCA race. But that's definitely the Terre Haute Action Track.
The only thing missing in this pic is the American flag! It's a Maryland car and the date on the license tag looks like '63, maybe.
Early , and my favorite version, of the Wetzel '32 .....
Patsy Cline with her new Oldsmobile.
I believe that first pic is from 1953 and the lady is Jane Greer who was the race queen that year. She was also married to Vallee for a short time some years earlier.
You are correct. And since that's the year Scarborough died in the race that year, supposedly from heat exhaustion but there were other factors as well.
Not sure of the track, but looks like Johnny White with Weinberger's car in the third shot.
Last photo is Benny Rapp's car, probably an IMCA show.
Wonder if she wore those CRAZY sunglasses when she was out walking after midnight ???
Man what a great song!

John Saur’s deuce coupe
Isn't it GREAT just posting and enjoying pictures again, without all the silly drama?
He bought that Olds from my cousin at the Olds dealer in Beverly Hills. His XK 140 was on the used car lot one day when I was visiting. That is why we never bought the suicide story. Who buys a new car and suicides??
If you say so...............

It sure looks like my mid 50s Evinrude boat motor.
