What a gorgeous body this is. Do you have any information on the car? A little wider and shorter and this would have been a bitchen Can-Am series body! - EM

The Leitenberger car was the property of Ohio's Long Bros. in the very early '60's, and one of the first, if not the first, sprint car ride of Larry Dickson. Apparently a "lost" car.

It is no wonder Packard is no longer. To go from the most Glorious Radiator grills in the 1930's to that...

THANKS for posting the photo. This particular magazine is the first car magazine I ever bought. I was not quite 11 years old. I still have it among my magazine collection.

Looks like Mike Nazaruk and mechanic Frankie DelRoy at Indianapolis in 1951. This was probably after qualifying as they both look happy and the car is clean. Rookie Nazaruk finished second in the 500 that year and the engine still had the same "cracked block" that it had the year before when Johnnie Parsons won the race.

I got lucky in the back seat of a 59 Chevy once! Lucky I didn't get the shit slapped out of me for being a little too "friendly":(
