My guess is the picture is from maybe the 70s when the cars had already hit bottom and started back up in value. The light blue car up by the garage is a lot newer than the sales lot. The Castroil GTX sign helps dat it too.

 

That car in the right side background looks to be about 1 1957-8 Chrysler or DeSoto.

That would all depend on the horizontal perspective your referring to.

 

AMT has just now reissued their '66 Mercury kit with the Wrist Twist steering returned to the custom parts, in case you want to sneak one into a diorama...
