    Hello,

We saw the “Freight Train” run back in those old days. But, in 2017, I was fortunate enough to get up close and personal with the 2017 version. Impressive back then, impressive now. The location was the Price Transfer Lions Dragstrip Museum, outdoor Cacklefest area in June of 2017. Sometimes, these long FED race cars just do not fit into the digital camera screen for detailed shots.

Rootie, this is Dick Mealy, looks like the old Leightenberger sprinter. It was previously owned/driven by Don Gillette.

  7. Is that a D500 Dodge to the left in the photo? Looks like the double checkered flag badge on the front.

I looked again and you my very well be correct about Lou Baney. I knew him pretty well, he was the president of SEMA for a while. He also founded the Saugus Drag Strip in the '50's...

I won't argue the pre66 issue with you Gary. The attire screams early 70s though. It's not worth getting your panties in a bunch over. I like most of your postings. Where you find that cool stuff is beyond me and I give you credit for your web searching skills.

LOL! You are unique man and I love it!
