    Can't say for sure, but this looks more like St. Helens in Lancashire to me;
    Morris van on right, Morris 8 on left?
    The Francis Frith Collection covers the UK, didn't think he'd been over the pond taking photographs.

    Hey Gary,
    In looking at this photo, the tower side bleachers are missing or the short temporary ones are being used. So, it must have been in 1958 or earlier. In 1958-59, Lions Dragstrip started adding some small, but taller bleachers, then larger ones, and in an odd move, rented the larger ones out during the Pasadena New Year's Day parade for the Pasadena's annual Rose Parade festivities.

    Whether it was in those years, they may have been missing because of the "Loaner" program or shot in the early years. Here are my movies taken from next to the white ambulance parking spot, until the end of the movie clip.

    It was one of the best, close up, starting line shots, since the pro photographers were all lined up in front of the other side where the spectators sat. (a little noisy and definitely close to the action with a fixed lens)

  22. This is most excellent and thanks for doing a follow up! What a testament to the quality of the Lustron company.
    And now that you mention it, I have been toying with the idea of creating a scaled version of a Lustron house for a number of years. In my resource material, I have copies of floor plans and elevations along with detailed measurements.
    I also have the correct diecast cars to place in front of the completed model.
    Hmmmmmm, I think you just inspired me. Many thanks!

    That has a 1941 plate with a 42 topper, with a "V" for Victory tag on the right for 1943. All done to save metal in WWII.
