    Who cares what smells like. 75% Chinese Nitro got me into the Bonneville 200 MPH Club on 2 passes.

    You're right it is Thompson circa 1940, the driver is, I believe, Russ Green.

    Thompson, Conn. was built right after the devastating hurricane that hit New England in 1938. John Honig used all the toppled pines to build the grandstand and the clubhouse. It was built on his family farm. I believe this track was the first track in the country to be paved .It was and still is a 5/8 mile. When it was first built it was referred to as the Indianapolis of the east. The great Tony Wilman lost his life there in 1941 A Great historical track.

    Does anyone know where this is? it looks a lot like the R/R underpass at Washington st in Roseville Ca today which would have been 40/99 at this time. Thx!
