    That's a little deceptive as Moffett has the one big Macon era hanger. But it also has two of the smaller (but still large) Blimp hangers the same as Tustin. As a boy I remember the sub patrol blimps going out over our house near Emerald lake. They were low enough that I thought I might be able to catch the mooring rope and pull one in someday.

    SCD Mk3- built in 1965, designed by Lee Dykstra (later well known race car designer), built by Don Cox, financed by (?) Strout and driven by Glen Lyall. They got a 429 Cadillac engine out the back door of GM, who I think Cox was working for at the time (he later headed pit crews at Indy for Penske and others). The then-innovative wedge body was penned by GM design studios.
