Rootie, by the tread pattern that must be one of the Goodyear designs that was never raced. The car is the Watson that Foyt turned over to Ebb Rose at Indianapolis and that won the 500 the next year after being rebuilt by Eddie Kuzma. But I don't recognize the venue at what appears to be a tire test. Could this be in October of 1963 when Foyt went 200.4 MPH at the Goodyear test track in San Angelo, Texas?

Thanks for posting this interesting photo!

That shot of the cars on the deck leaving Detroit on Lake Erie reminded me of all those 1929 Nash cars sitting on the bottom of Lake Michigan......

Can't say for sure but I think it is Indy. Here's another shot of A.J. in the car in the garage area with the same tires.

  9. Loudbang - diggin' the Detroit snow picture. T-Birds may have been ok in it, never seen so much factory engine setback in a car.

Well, Don Garlits just about lost his leg when a diff blew on his car, resulting in the rear-engined cars he designed and made popular. Don't know if this is a foe toe of his diff or not...I've never seen one...

    Yup. It is Indy.

Color changes everything and those blue stripes I believe show that those are Goodyear stock car based tires that Foyt is testing. This was in May of 1963 and all they did was test the tires. I don't think there was ever any real plan to race with them that year. At any rate all 33 cars ended up on Firestones in both 1963 and 1964 after Goodyear decided both years that they really weren't quite ready.

As you can see, this was around the beginning of the second world war, they were looking for Germans posting pictures of Saabs.

    Design quicky:
October 1954, Buick Studio was finally ready to release the Wildcat III concept car to the fabrication shops.
Wildcat III was first shown to the public as part of the 1955 Motorama that opened in late January.

I had to do a second look at the one on the drivers side. She looked like she had a headlight out. The one at the grill looks a bit cheeky, too.
