Vintage shots from days gone by!

  1. Not 100% certain but as far as I know they were locally assembled from CKD kits from Canada. Relatively limited numbers, probably only a few dozen each year. We had the full size cars to 1960 or maybe '61, then compact Fairlanes until '65. From then on it was Falcons from Oz. Lots of UK Zephyrs along the way as well.

    No, not the aftermath of a plane crash. In Middletown, Ohio in the early '60s the city park district had a T-33 jet trainer placed in the local park for the kids to play on; about three years later they decided it was an eyesore and broke it up for scrap. The USAF had them take a bunch of photos to prove it had been destroyed (I'm just posting the ones with cars/trucks in them).
    From the collection of Leon Cleaver, who saved a lot of other vintage planes from the scrappers.
