Where did you find the picture of the '40 Deluxe Coupe ? It was built and raced by Steve McGee from Pendleton, Oregon. It was painted Naples Orange, had an injected SBC, and ran C/G. If you look close, you will see "Lil Punk'n" on the side. Steve went on to a long career in drag racing, from A/GS, T/F and Funny cars. Sadly, Steve passed away a couple of months ago. Thanks for posting !

After being cut from the police academy for his eyesight, Chuck became the toughest school crossing guard in the state.

Rootie, your photo looks to be an early one of the Ross Page car. I've always wondered just what the story was behind the unique, for the time, layout of the car.

Also, I've seen photos of the car being built at Kurtis (circa 1946) that show Ronnie Ward (Rodger's brother) doing part of the fabrication on the car. I don't know just when he started at Kurtis but the Page car might have been one of his first projects there. Ronnie seems to be one of the unsung heroes of race car construction in that era as at one point he was working for both Kurtis (days) and Watson (evenings) at the same time. Of course, he later went out on his own
