Was checking out this old November 1956 Mechanix Illustrated run across a page that was book marked with a slip of paper the article marked was about the new 57 Ford's and there's a x next to the picture of a 2dr wagon and on the sheet of paper the ol boy had been crunching numbers.... Possibly a new wagon for the farm....[IMG][IMG]

I'll batch these together. All from Ireland. I'll leave out the horsedrawn stuff, a bit outside our area of interest.

One of the most famous, and certainly most expensive, big cars of its day. The Hank O'Day car had no expense spared when it was built by Curly Wetteroth. And the tow rig was first class as well. O'Day could well afford it since he ran an illegal gambling operation out of the otherwise sleepy little town of Charleston, Illinois.

Is that Joie Chitwood in the cockpit?

Apparently, Hank O'Day's Tavern is still operating in Charleston, Illinois under a new name.

  22. The retractable was the Skyliner, and the soft top convertible was the Sunliner.

I thought at first this was the Calypso back when Jacque Cousteau had BMW build him the little water explorer
AmphIsetta it was mainly used for the shallows in the Bay's and shorelines ....But it was not. I wonder what they did with that car...They restored the Calypso maybe the AmphIsetta got restored also.......Or ...No...That I think was a dream I had when I got sea sick the first time in the ocean on a 140ft tug boat and was my last[IMG]
