  1. Vegas. First time I flew in there in the early 70s - didn't look much different than the pic.

Kansas City, MO, downtown airport before they built the big one farther north. The TWA building there is now Executive Beechcraft and the airfield is now used mostly for general aviation aircraft and is located at the extreme south end of the airport.

    Hello,
Does anyone have photos of a custom show car from back in the late 60's early 70's that had a bubble dome top and steered by a lever instead of a steering wheel?
    Thanks,
    Jnaki

  9. Darryl Starbird's "Predicta"
    http://thepredictaproject.org/?page_id=534

"Everyone noticed that there was no steering wheel because Starbird fabricated and installed a “tiller” steering system: Capable of being steered from either seat, the car could be directed by pushing or pulling on a chromed rectangular shaft that emerged through a chromed panel between the seats."

    Hello,
If CRS allows me to think back, it did look somewhat like the Predicta, but it could not have been that original one. We were in So Cal at the time. I took some photos, but those are long gone...sorry.

    Thanks,
    Jnaki

  12. Starbird's "Forcasta" was the other tiller-steered one I'm familiar with.

    It had 2 iterations.

  13. Like so many, that car got redone several times.

  14. Forcasta went through some changes too:

  15. Starbird Futurista didn't have a wheel either:

    Hey CJ,
Thanks for the photos. The maroon one looks something like it, but the blue color seem about right. That will teach me to give away those photos. I submitted them to a magazine and was told that it was not to their liking. So, I gave all of the photos to the then, owner. I have lost contact with him since it was 45 years ago. I was able to drive it around the photo shoot area, but that dang stick lever was hard to steer. Plus, it was hotter than @##$$ under that clear dome. Not a daily driver for sure...
    Thank you,
    Jnaki

  19. There's a HAMB page on just bubble tops - maybe it'll help?
