    Nice pics Rootie!

On the WD-40 blog. I used to work down the street from their plant (Balboa Ave, San Diego) WD stands for water displacement. The 40 was the fortieth formula.

I wonder which Gemco this was near. I knew of two of them in southern CA back in the 60's and 70's. Lifetime membership was only a dollar.

It wasn't the one in Fountain Valley, that's for sure. We shopped there from 1971 until it closed

  11. I know it's not the one in Downey nor the one I remember in the Lynwood / Compton area.

  12. Anyone here remember Zodys?

I dated a girl in HS who lived in Maywood-Bell but I don't think the cities were combined yet. 1961. Bought a suit from Jim Clinton, does that count.

A high school friend of mine got his first full time job at a Two Guys near us. He had a wife and kid on the way. Six months later, they announced the store was closing and going out of business. Kind of representative of his luck.

  19. Not sure who Jim Clinton was but Maywood didn't have a HS and everyone from there either went to Bell High or one of the local Catholic High Schools.
