Vintage shots from days gone by!

  1. When I was a kid my dad and I would frequent a local "model garage". There was always a pan of gas in the corner for cleaning parts. The owner liked to show off by throwing his butts into it. Then one day it burned the whole shop down!
     
  2. It looks like a 1955 US Ford with a Canadian Meteor grille. It's steering wheel is on the left.

    I think so, I've never seen one before. It was in our family photo album.

    It's a 1953 Ford, with 56 Fairlane side trim, and a 1955 Meteor grille. It was a local custom around here years ago. Kind of different!

    Anymore info on this special Merc Custom ? In my mind it is the greatest Merc Custom of all times. It's breaking all the rules and looking sooooo damn good doing it. I am in love. Who build this ? When ? Where?

    I remember seeing this in magazines as a teenager, still makes me warm and fuzzy!
    I would bet it's (one of) the first Ford SOHC engines to see street duty.
