I did too on Saturday 2/20. They had some terrific cars on display. This was our first visit since the "remodeling."

  3. Yep....that's Norm G with the crew cut. Photo is in one of Andy Southard's books..."Hot Rods of the 50's"

Looks like something you would see in Cherokee N.C., years ago.

I think that what you see is what American movies portrayed as a greeting used by Native Americans while saying "How." In fact that style of salute was used while saying the Pledge of Alegience. This was used until the late 1800's or early 1900's. And yes it seems the NAZI party adopted the same salute.

If that's the Fillmore East, I was at that show. Great memories!!! Thanks for posting.

  15. That sure does! (even if it isn't)
The main drag (US441)was lined with Indian gift shops, with "real" tomahawks, bows and arrows, blankets, beaded mocassins, tom-toms and other "native" crafts.
We little kids could care less that it was made in Taiwan and the warriors looked like Plains Indians, not local Cherokee. It was awesome!
Brings back a lot of vacation from Florida memories. Thanks!

Nightmoves - hope you don't mind, here' a full size image. WWII era, right? Because of the Victory Bonds wording on the JD sign. Guess a 70 year old bottle would be aged pretty well by now. Good pic.

My initial thought was that this is Pikes Peak (drove up there in Sept last year - nice memory), but is that the tail end of a fighter jet at the top right? If it is, then I can't see how or why it would be atop PP.
    Anyone know the answer?
    Cheers.
