Great pics, Olio - takes me back to my misspent youth playing in garage bands! I see a Rickenbacker 345 , a Gretsch 6101 (with Bigsby tremolo tailpiece) , and a generic Japanese bass (Teisco Del Rey?). I was a Fender guy myself!

    Keep those hits coming!

Cool Corvette shots, must be the St. Louis plant.
In the first photo, it looks like a little final gap adjustments going on.

…. And so yes, still as the dawn of the century turned, gun slinging hot shots still clung to the old ways of calling your mark out to the street to see who was faster, albeit by this time they stood farther apart …… and draw they did, but only IF they could actually see each other. Yes a gun slinger.jpg

… and according to my secret California Yellow Plate library of plate issue date codes, this one comes in as a mid to late 1961 issue. This show then was sometime after that…. Trivial Trivia 62 license issued plate.jpg

… and apparently a cut scene from the original Body Snatchers movie. Notice the bike cop has completely yielded to the will of the pods and the by-standers are but now frozen statues. Even the bike has frozen while the parade of folks coming from miles around to get their pods …. files on & on The body snatchers.jpg

Free to paint.jpg … gee no respirator mask, glove or paint suit needed here. This was when painting was actually good for you and the paint was scented with various fruit scents. As seen here, some of the boys who were on lunch break decided, what the hell and let's all go downstairs and paint what with the lint from their clothing being of no concern ... … In this photo we are witness to what really happened at the Corvette plants on the west coast and is not very well known. The fact is the bodies, as can be seen here, were actually molded as a complete monolithic unit doors and all. After cutting open the hood, the man on the left is attempting to smooth out the cut line that has just been made for the door which will later be remolded and fitted. The man in front as can plainly be seen by his expression, has discovered that apparently repetitive copies off the same mother mold eventually outsizes and will no longer fit as he discovers with the drivers headlamp cover he is attempting to install. Yes many man hours were required to complete the car. As with most cars of this vintage, the car manufactures relied on the dealerships to "finish" the car once delivered ! - ( Oh, just funning ya all ) Corvette Care.jpg
