A big thank you to all the Veterans including one of my Uncles who served as a Medic in Korea. He always talks about his trusty Jeep and how he modified it so he could carry 2 stretchers.

See they are not all gassers, some people drove them for work.

Are you sure she wasn't using a Coleman white gas stove?

Was propane - fueled by the same type disposable tanks that propane torches used. This would have been around 1961. I actually laid hands on that stove in 2013 while cleaning out my parents' house.

No, the Coleman stove had a tank that attached in a manner similar to the way the propane line goes to the burners. It has a screw-off cap and you added liquid "Coleman Fuel" to it. the Fuel came in cans that you bought or brought with you. We even had a Coleman heater for our 2-room tent that worked with the fuel as well. We were using the liquid fuel in the late 60's through the late 70's. I don't recall when we switched to the propane tanks.

Mine too. 'Way pre-teen, like Mickey Mouse Club.

    Check out the beach shoes!

Still from Beach Party, most likely? She's not being sultry - that's "The Look" she gave Frankie when she thought he wasn't paying attention to her.
BTW, have to give kudos to Frankie Avalon in those movies; great comic timing and never took himself too seriously.

Jim - know exactly what you're talking about - still have my Coleman two-burner gasoline stove from the 70's (including nifty stove stand as pictured above), and a couple of well used Coleman gasoline lanterns (still used for night fishing). After I started camping in pop-up trailers which had their own propane stoves, I would use the gasoline stove at home for frying fish outdoors.

Guess I missed Frankie's great comic timing - too distracted by Annette!
