Rollin' cross the river...
100th Anniversary of Multnomah Falls State Park today!
DODSON, Ore. — A celebration of the 100th anniversary of the dedication of Multnomah and Wahkeena falls as a public park will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Multnomah Falls Lodge plaza.
Officials of the Friends of Multnomah Falls, Portland Parks and Recreation, Multnomah Falls Lodge Co., Multnomah County and the U.S. Forest Service will reenact the 1915 dedication.
In 1915, Simon Benson provided $5,250 to the City of Portland to buy land at Multnomah Falls and combine it with land he had purchased at Wahkeena Falls.
The area became Benson Park. Over time, the falls became part of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
Can someone 'splain what these kids are doing? Looks like a very complicated game.
Proving Newton's second law of motion.
I'm guessing the beef thing wasn't as lucrative for the Colonel.
The wagon appears to be moving.
From what I could find out about the roast beef was the Colonel thought the new owners of the KFC corporation were straying away from the core chicken business. By the time they got into the roast beef it was sold but they kept the Colonel as a consultant and he went around to the resturants to taste the food and he was not happy with what he had found so he forced the new owners to stay only with the chicken. When I first seen that picture a few years ago I never knew KFC got into roast beef and that was what I was told in my investigation about KFC roast beef.
I thought the same thing.
Seems like the plan to lure little Johnny out into the open worked for the two cowpokes hiding by the Hudson.
I was wondering if it was from some sort of road safety film?? Something like that??

Looks like Eastern Oregons Painted Hills
1915: (Ex-) President Taft visits Multnomah Falls via the new Columbia River Highway. L to R): Edgar Piper - editor of the Oregonian, Judge CH Carey, Taft, Simon Benson, John Yeon and Amos Benson.
For those who care.....
There is a neat story in todays Oregonian about Multnomah Falls and Simon Benson.
You can see it has extra lighting. No shadows. Movie set maybe?
But there's shadows from the car....
Give it up, it's shopped.
Poorly done, too. Because it's too obvious.
