Guys, ... just enjoy the pics. You don't have to correct every little thing. We all know you guys are experts on all things automotive!!!

Why not get the information correct for that very reason? Neither of those clarifications were made in a mean-spirited manner and in most cases they are helpful to the original poster so that he can have and be passing on correct information. I would be glad to have someone provide me with the correct information so I would know when I told others about the photos. It is because we are "experts on all things automotive" that we should make these comments as long as they aren't done in an abrasive manner. This is a board for car people and the cars are the primary feature of this thread as is occasionally pointed out to us.

  9. Thanks for the corrections guys. I took a WAG on the Fleetline based on the story I heard 50 years ago, and the Corvair only was around for a few months before Pop folded the suspension up under it at a high rate of speed over a canal on the way home from Lake Isabella. It was traded off for a Fairlane with more seating shortly after.
His brother, my Uncle was in a car club in the 50's I think near Palmdale, Ca. Notes on these photos suggest this was one of their gatherings. 1957 Car club.jpg 1957 Car club1.jpg 1957 Car club2.jpg 1957 Car club3.jpg 1957 Car club4.jpg

corrections could be PM'd so the poster could edit and if needed correct his post, rather than all the chatter here....

Any one know where this Crosley Service Department pic was taken? Judging by the ceiling metal tiles and the big lights looks to have been a Hall or restaurant..

  17. An interesting mix of old cars. A guess at the makes and models: first pic is a Pierce-Arrow 38 from around 1915-17. Next is a late 1920s Lincoln. The pic with three cars; a 1929 Black Hawk (a less expensive product from Stutz), a circa 1925 Hudson and a circa 1925 Chrysler. The white Packard could be a 1936 Super Eight and the black Packard convertible a 1937 Twelve.
