Tim, do you have any other pictures of Pass Christian, MS. Nothing shown in the picture still exists. Most of this was destroyed in the 1947 hurricane and Katrina finished it off.

  5. Joe: The gas station canopy was built around and covered up many years ago. Katrina "uncovered" it only to leave it for some dumb bell to tear it down in the last few years. My wife was born there and lived on market street until we married right after Camille' Any pics would likely be of hurricane damage. We have found some online. I'll look through what I have on my computer a little later in the morning. If I find anything I'll let you know. Tim

Tim, I live in Pass Christian now and some of my family lived here in the 50's to the 80's, the Leary's. The gas station canopy is where a Packard Dealership was originally I think. There was some evidence of that when Katrina damaged the front of the building. You are right someone tore the entire building down after Katrina. It is now an empty lot with some foundation structures remaining from a failed project after Katrina.

  16. How funny is that, that might be our old Volvo 544 tucked away in the PSU parking garage - my aunt was borrowing it when she took some classes there in 1967...

Usually,---Model t's had to back up on extreme grades, due to gas tank under drivers seat & gravity flow to carb. updraft style.
