  3. My uncle Bill flew the Delta Daggers out of McChord AFB in quick response to this early warning system.

The F102 was the first fighter that could fly over mach 1 in level flight and had "supposedly" the capability to intercept long range ICBM's.

It was a Delta Dagger F102 that cost him his life in January 1959.

    To protect public decorum, naturally.
I don't blame them either - a very public display of reckless disregard for modesty.

Mr Google tells me this: "Teenagers in the parking lot of an A & W drive - in, in Hutchinson, Kan., in 1959." (He would most likely tell you too if you asked him - simply use Google image search. I use a little "add on" program through Firefox that avoids all that uploading images stuff Mr Google wants you to do - goes straight there.)

20150213_162004.jpg I took a cell phone shot of this picture out at Kaman bearing it was on their time line poster showing their founder with an early helicopter he had a hand in. Looks to me like it's made out of a mid thirties ford frame.

^ If not Ford then something very similar, eh? The front half looks a little plow-ish, though. Gary

Being from England , can anyone explain the "Out of State cars ,Register here sign," as I drove from California to Key West, (sightseeing took me to 14 States) ,via Bonneville Speed Week in 2010 and did not see anything about "checking in" in each State. Although I was "checked out" by several Police cars along the way.

Wish I could help you on this, as I live in Grants Pass. The "It's The Climate" sign still hangs across 6th street, but the "Out of State cars register here" sign is long gone.
