Bill Mcdavid still had this car the last time I was there in 1991 .

On another note , Maggie the Oregon shots have made me so very homesick ! I'm waiting on Grants Pass and Cave Junction too

And... in the 1st Carcinogen World Championships it bested the American Winston Special, which had a body made entirely of nicotine. Gads, what a terrible idea. Gary

Great shot of the Arteaga Hellmuth Willys coupe with Waynes Toronado towcar in the background. Both cars still exist .

Indeed! In the mid-60's THIS was everyone's dream car (basically a street-able gasser). 'Cept I would have gone with a matching set of front mags, too. Oh what a day. Gary

seems that this car would shatter like glass in a crash. I've worked with old asbestos shingles on houses before and they are very fragile.

    Keep 'em coming, Maggie!
See if you can spot any photos of a little three-unit motel on 101 in Arch Cape - probably built in the 1950s. My boss owns it (now converted to a house) and would like to see how it looked back then.

^ I was back then... and I liked them to match on street cars! No white walls on race or street cars for me back then, either. As you know, the main reason they didn't match on race cars back then is that the narrow front rims weren't always offered in the same designs as the rears. To each his own... Gary

  21. ^ The dream lives for me! The pic of that '56 HT was taken around the time I was born. You guys who were there have some priceless memories.

*EDIT* - A big thanks to swi66 for posting the photo! Lots of great pics

Tell me about it. 25 years ago I fell in love with this '61 two-door post LeSabre I passed in San Gabriel every day going home from work. Got up the nerve to leave a note on it... nothing. Finally after the third note I got a call from the owner who politely-but-firmly said it wasn't for sale; I did get him to agree to call if he changed his mind.
    Never heard from him again...

SAMUELS GARAGE_0004.jpg My wife's grandfather, and later her father, owned and operated a Sinclair service station in Salt Lake City starting in the early 1920's and continuing until about 1980. If any forum members in the Salt Lake City area have pictures of the station, I'd sure like to see them. The station was located on 4th South, just west of the Newhouse Hotel. In fact, it was originally a storage and service garage for the hotel, prior to its conversion to a Sinclair station.
