Indianapolis 500 Veteran, National Sprint Car Hall of Famer, and member of our own Bettenhausen family here in Tinley Park, Gary Bettenhausen, passed away unexpectedly yesterday. He was one of the best to ever sit behind the wheel. Although we are all mourning the loss of a family member, we are all celebrating Gary's legacy and what he has contributed to our deep racing history.[IMG]

    HEY!---Wait a minute,---You forgot to port & relieve it!!!

  6. Sorry to learn of his passing. I met him many, many years ago at P.I.R., seemed like a nice guy. R.I.P.

  7. I though I read about 2 years ago this was a shot of a New England scene. Either at Orange or Sanford A.P.

  8. Sorry but no I don't have any info on that car. While some of the pics I post might have a caption or short story, most do not. This one did not.

  9. Been thru that intersection myself more times than I can remember.

A nice guy, indeed, fun to be around. And he was an old-fashioned, hard-nosed REAL racer.

I think I see the poor sap that always got to hand-pack the wheel bearings. He was "good at it" so the boss let him do 'em all. LOL

  29. Here's some random shots from South America. Oh, to be back in these times. I really like the 31 Chevrolet roadster. Note the Florida and Brasil plates.
