Vintage shots from days gone by!

RaceRon, Do you have any info on this car, where it was taken? My father had a black chopped and channeled black 32' five window when I was just a rugrat. I remember playing in it in the garage. He sold it to a guy down the street for $50.00. It was a basket case in the garage about 1968. Just wondering/hoping this is it. Thanks

Indianapolis 500 Veteran, National Sprint Car Hall of Famer, and member of our own Bettenhausen family here in Tinley Park, Gary Bettenhausen, passed away unexpectedly yesterday. He was one of the best to ever sit behind the wheel. Although we are all mourning the loss of a family member, we are all celebrating Gary's legacy and what he has contributed to our deep racing history.

Sorry to learn of his passing. I met him many, many years ago at P.I.R., seemed like a nice guy. R.I.P.

 

I though I read about 2 years ago this was a shot of a New England scene. Either at Orange or Sanford A.P.

 

Sorry but no I don't have any info on that car. While some of the pics I post might have a caption or short story, most do not. This one did not.

A nice guy, indeed, fun to be around. And he was an old-fashioned, hard-nosed REAL racer.

 

I think I see the poor sap that always got to hand-pack the wheel bearings. He was "good at it" so the boss let him do 'em all. LOL
