Finally! If I see any more photos of politicians, movie stars, airplanes, comic books, etc., etc. in this thread it will be too soon.

  3. I went back and looked at pages 1 through 5 and found a whole lot of pictures of old cars, TV screen captures, diners and may I say even politicians. There may have been a few pictures that didn't trip my trigger, but they were old pictures and they were a part of history. Even if there is something that doesn't excite me, it probably brings back memories for other people. Here you'll find a picture of a presidential limo found on page three. I wasn't old enough to vote for Harry Truman, but he sure did give em hell.

    P. 1 through 5 aren't that much different in my mind, but, then again, I don't have any power over such matters.

Never mind the mammoth B-36s that took their toll from a tornado in September, 1952 at Carswell AFB. You included (barely) a car in the photo. That's all that matters. :)

This is why my posts don't even exceed 200. I could post at least 5-10 or more a day on all different threads but it's either get sucked in and play or just read, look and enjoy.

I think this is on a drag strip, she just took off and is getting ready to grab a gear. Aside from a few "girlie" pics, this has been my favorite and one of only a handful I have saved.

I couldn't look this relaxed if the kickstand was down.

Given that the title of this adventure is "Vintage shots from days gone by!"...
I'd say a good 93.7% of what I've seen has been "on topic".Sure...there is stuff is well outside my personal range if interest, but most of it still seems to qualify under the chosen heading (?)

  15. As a young guy with an old soul I get a kick out of the diversity (hippy word sorry...) in this thread. Because of this thread I have seen images I would have never conceived of, would have never known existed, no clue how to search for. As a person interested in Howard Hughes I have started "collecting" images via this thread. Since I work on Edwards AFB and live about 3 miles from Rosamond dry lake bed I have saved shots posted here from both. I have also saved a few shots of vintage aircraft that I like. I know this thread pushes the express definition of HAMB, I get it. I also know that threads like this consume bandwith like crazy. Answer this though. Where is there another place to see this kind of stuff on the internet? Seriously, if there is such a collection I would love to see it. No search criteria , just a place to see pics from the mid 60's and older.

Here's to hoping the mods and Site Owner letting this keep rolling.

I'm sure there must be a photograph of this beast in a salvage yard after its PR lifespan had run out. That would be a cool photo.
