While I don't know for sure where this is, I saw a scene virtually identical to this in the summer of 1960, in Denver, CO.
Doc - ???
So - THAT's where it all started....???!!!
C69?? Does anyone know the diff in these from the C121?
The C69 was the standard Constellation where the C121/EC121 was the Super Constellation. The 121 had a lengthened fuselage and upgraded engines.
It would seem X-ray 'upgrades' certain components............
The folks who own it are planning to rebuild it pretty much from scratch. Good luck to 'em!
I gotta' work faster!
A'HA! You got me on this one! I thought this was a Bristol Blenheim, it is in fact a Bristol Beaufort. These are a development of the Blenheim.
This one (A9-100) is the first of 6 that were sent to Oz on the 'Lend Lease' arrangement.
DAP (Department of Aircraft Production) went on to build around 700 of these for the RAAF.
I was lucky enough to help in restoring a nose section of one of these.
Check it out here...... http://www.ausairpower.net/aarg.html
Sorry to disillusion you 1stGrumpy , but Bob Hope was born and raised in Eltham, South East London, England, about 10 miles from where I live. Yes I agree he was a GREAT entertainer.
Not disillusioned at all Johnboy, in the past 238 years there have been a lot of great Americans born elsewhere.
