The Oriental Laundry sign in the background includes the phrase "NOT in the TRUST". Can anyone explain what this refers to?

    Talking to Santa, 1948

Van Nuys Street with Christmas decorations, 1948

Captioned "P-E Station, Sierra Madre" 1947, assume this is the Pacific Electric station for the famous red cars...snow has got to be fake, even in Sierra Madre, rarely snows

    Hollywood Blvd Christmas decorations, 1945

View of the Santa Claus Lane parade looking west on Hollywood Boulevard at Las Palmas. Thousands of spectators are shown on Hollywood Boulevard as they watched a section of the parade pass before them. Photo dated: November 24, 1945.

Residents of the Optimist Home for Boys in Highland Park, wearing choir robes, sing in front of a Christmas tree on December 21, 1944. My father was a member of this Oprtimist Club, and every year they would hold a big picnic to raise money for this boy's home.

Joan Leslie, beautiful sun goddess of Southern California's All-Winter Sun Festival, and Santa Claus are shown on a rocket ship float in the colorful Santa Claus Lane parade. Photo dated: November 21, 1940.

All the above pictures from the LA Country Library photo collection
