It's actually a '53-'55 DB2/4 Drophead that was loaned to the studio for the movie.

That is one tired El Camino.....Having that little bunny crawl up on it's fender is probably the best thing that's happened to it in awhile.

  13. Speaking of Sta-Lube, does anyone recall the smell of the Sta-Lube hand cleaner of the 50's? I STILL remember it well, as a kid I thought if was ultra cool to wash my hands with the stuff!

The hammer slipped from his grip, bounced off the tire and hit him in the..um...,well you know. His branch of the family tree was a short one.

The rear fenders look really long on that T-Bird . What's that all about?

Andersen's in Oscoda, MI, once home to Wurtsmith AFB, closed in '91, spent some time there.

  23. I was parts manager at the Ford dealership in Oscoda in the mid 70s after I got out of the Air Force. Was never stationed at Wurtsmith but went to high school just north of Oscoda in Lincoln.

As soon as I saw this I recognized the location. The 300 block of Forbes Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. I'm pretty sure Alvin's is still there. Looks like a 'pimpmobile'.

The first pimpmoble I saw was in Boston in 1973.It was a new Gran Prix with a big white padded roof and big fake headlights covers over the originals.Seems it had a conti kit too.

It does not look stock and if you look at the picture closely, you can see where the body extension starts. One could certainly pull an airstream with one of those T-Birds. I also was wondering what the story is on the extended body.
