^^^Quoting 7 images for 1 comment (that usually misses the mark anyway) is how this amazing thread loses its luster.

I don't know what your comment was aimed at but the pilot in that pic can fly. Look at the only remaining aileron.

  21. I know many have posted their appreciation for this thread. I'd like to Thank the folks doing the heavy lifting in particular. SWI66 has dug up some great stuff! I particularly love the Lucy and Ricky stuff as I got to see most of them when they were first broadcast. Suthern realy knows how to start a fella's day! Doc adds some really interesting details from our past, and the rest of you who've put dozens if not hundreds of hours into this thread are all to be commended, again! Thank you.

LeBaron bodied 31 Pierce Arrow. One of my favorite closed cars. Part of Pierces "catalog" line of custom bodies. Not very many were made. Here is a link to one that was restored.

I think Duece Daddy's comment was in reference to this pic.....what is being illustrated here is that you could remove all these parts of the car with just one screwdriver and one wrench. Early Citroens were simple to work on, and the unibody did not rely on the doors or fenders for structural strength. this was an amazing feat of engineering in 1955.....inboard disc brakes in front, hydraulic height adjustable suspension, the same hydraulics also powered the brakes, the steering and the shifting of the transmission, aerodynamic design, frameless door windows, unibody construction, front wheel drive and on and on......
