Herber H. Hunt’s Get Out of Jail Card: Just when we thought we had seen it all, along comes this design by Herber H. Hunt for transporting “Mobile Aero Squadrons”. Hunt, who was serving a 5-year sentence in military prison for unauthorized use of Federal property, hoped that he could win at least temporary parole if the army chose to develop his idea. A Dodge Brothers Agency in Ypsilanti: Today we have a line up of some very early Dodge automobiles parked in front of what would become a long lived dealership in the Ypsilanti, Michigan. Joseph H. Norm's Six Pack was featured in Car Craft back in the 60's. I had that magazine issue as a teenager.

 

These magazines were published in England in the '50,s. I have several of them and they contain a lot of " In the future.... " articles. Things like mobile phones ,personal music boxes,etc. They were 2/6d in England and 3/3d in Australia.

In answer to the seatbelt query,in England we are allowed to drive vehicles without seatbelts fitted if it was registered before 1964 (I think) and get free Road Tax if registered before 1974 (just gone up from '73). We do not have to have a MOT Test Certificate if registered before 1960. Although Insurance Companies may ask for a Certificate of Road worthiness, which is dearer than the MOT, so you might as well get that and cover your arse.

 

Anyone besides me notice how that "Futuristic " Motor home resembles the 1955 L' Universalle G M C built ?

#72650 - I can't identify this car.The front looks like a 55, and the back looks like a 57? not exactly like a 56 Biarritz??

 

This restaurant is still going strong on 82nd in Portland (right down the road from Madison High School).

Correct it is a 1955 Eldorado. Technically in 1955 it was called just an Eldorado. The Biarritz name came into play in 1956 when the hardtop Eldorado Seville was added. Nice pic
