  8. Oh man does this bring back a lot of memories! When I was on the staff at the Parachute Training School, there was a lot of down time between courses. I would go and hang out with the Riggers, a great bunch of guy's, they even let me use the sewing machines to make my own combat equipment!

    True Blue tail = These are from USS Enterprise CV-6 (also verified by the "6-T-*" on each aircraft), so the
    caption for the photo could be: "Douglas TBD Devastators from Torpedo Squadron 6, USS Enterprise off Hawaii" 1941

    my grandfather died aboard USS Enterprise during that battle,
    and you can see it in the video
    it was the battle of the eastern solomons.
    you can see in the video @2:21 when the bomb hits the port gun placement.

    so did 30 some other sailors,
    my son found this video online after i told him about his great grandfather,
    it is a bit eery to watch, especially having served on a carrier myself.
