    October 1952 Hot Rod magazine cover story on the 10 experimental aluminum V8 Flathead blocks Ford produced in 1940, with the intended application for small aircraft.This one made it into a Hot Rod.

    Seriously, WTF is going on here?
    The car on the right is standing on its nose, but it doesn't look like it's hit anything, and there's no way it could have stood on its nose from those monster brakes (that appear not to exist anyway).
    The two dudes (ex-passengers) are well and truly flying, and the laws of physics don't lie - something must have caused it....................
    No, wait, has someone photoshopped this.....????????

    After going on one of those ancestry sites, MATER (the tow truck in Disney's Cars movie) was able to find this photo of his great grandfather.

    I recognize the 1956 Pontiac Starchief JR electric powered Promotional car but the prototype Oldsmobile? I do not.

    Great vintage shot of a 1955 Thunderbird JR and a couple Astin pedal cars. I had not seen this shot before and would love to know the back story on it. The Tbird was electric powered and far from cheap back then. Guess in need to search Time magazine archives for information?
