  8. Anyone have a easy (cheap) way to convert slides to jpegs? I've got a ton of old slides from the late 40's-50's.

Not sure what you mean by 'cheap' but you might check one of the box stores in your area that has a photo center,(Walmart, Walgreen Drugs, etc.), and look for a unit that converts slides & 35mm negatives. I got one because I have thousands of kodachrome and other slides that the wife's grandparents took from the 30s-50s. Mine is an ION omni-scan, cost about $75.     my 70.00 epson printer/ scanner does it though I've never tried it..
