Hey, 11E, not sharpshooting at all, so i had the intention do dig a bit deeper in history!! thanks! this thread is my time machine. not far away from the spot where McKenzie hit the ground my r/c P 51 came down, too, now the wreck is a wallhanger two feet above my workbench..;) (don't wanna post pic, it's o.t.)

    Thanks for bringing that up again Flatheadguy. An easy way to comment on one photo out of the bunch, is to right click it and copy the URL. Then paste it in a reply, no need to quote the whole thing.

  11. +1, Flatheadguy. Or when you hit the Quote button, taking the time to edit the quoted message to remove everything except what you're referencing...very annoying otherwise.

    When using "quote" to include some or all of the content of the message you wish to refer to you can then go to the parts you don't want to repeat and left click and select parts to delete.I have done it before and maybe you only want to show text or maybe one of ten photos in the original post.

    While I confess I'm surprised to see any "41" serials even assigned to what was then a drawing board/prototype stage A/C, it's also clear that these assigned tail numbers were not produced anywhere near 1941 in any numbers, unless somehow due to a miracle otherwise known in aviation, no aircraft were lost to any causes prior to 1943...and over 95% of them in 1944 or later.

    Built by Henry Ford out of pre Model T parts, Model K radiator, Model B (the first B) four cylinder engine. It is on display in The Henry Ford Museum. Bob [​IMG]
