RacerRon I'm pickin' nits, but these are Dodge Brothers not Chryslers. Walter didn't buy DB until '28. This picture is actually part of a very good film about making DB's, shows lots of clips from the factory.

  2. I appreciate the correction - the description I posted was as described by the photo source. As discussed earlier on this thread, it's good when someone can correct 'historical errors'. Thanx

What annoy's me most are the replies that quote a whole multi-picture message with a one word or one line quip about the third photo down in a 10 photo message. I like humor, hell I live for it, but some peeps need to learn when you quote, you can delete the pictures you're not commenting on.

Oh well, I hope I didn't piss in too many bowls of cornflakes.

My Dad sitting on his Army surplus Harley 45. Those old stories about guys buying them at the end of the war are TRUE. My Dad stripped of all the military stuff, painted it red, and took it for a spin up P.C.H.(He was stationed at Fort Ord) It ran fine, so he through away all the military brackets and stuff.

For such a long ways down to the water, there doesn't seem to be much body damage. It doesn't seem to have crashed. Maybe washed downstream from an earlier flood?

we had an old man here when I was a teen that had an Army Surplus Indian Scout with a side car no chrome anywhere, All summer he rode 2 wheels come late fall he put the hack on and road in a full sheepskin flight suit all winter! He ran a gas station/service station and I never saw him drive a car in the 20+ years I knew him just that Scout year round nothing stopped him from riding!

Mine did all his riding on as-issued WLA's, but loved to stop at dealers and look at the new models when I was a kid. He never bought one, though, unlike myself. Assigned to the USAAF and trained and licensed to fly, the war ended and he was sent to Foggia (where we'd had a large airbase) to head a contingent of MP's. As there were a certain number of guys around who did "nose art", one was done of him. He came back and got a lot of T-6 time before mustering out. You don't usually see a lot of blondes as far south as Foggia. [IMG] [IMG]
