The boss has that same Seeburg model sitting in the plant right next to where I do my work. Too bad it doesn't work. He's fixing it for a friend.

The caption says the locomotive is pulling out the truck. If so, that is one really big tow truck! (Council Bluffs, again, this time 1947). The locomotive is an Alco S-2 switch engine built in 1944 and scrapped in 1971.

The Eisenhower speech is authentic, made in 1953 just after he became President. The picture is authentic too, but I think the marriage of the two is a case of photoshopping.

Check out how the owner chained the car down so it wouldn't wash away in the flood. I didn't see any information if it worked or not.

It's a 1961 Seeburg AY-160. Been out of commission since about '69, judging by the record tags and the Elvis sleeve. I hooked the main speakers to my home stereo system and they sound sweet...

That's the Pirelli Building (into which a distraught/defrauded businessman flew his GA Rockwell Commander a few years ago on one of my many trips there). Picture obviously taken from Statzione Centrale. It bears a remarkable resemblance to the Pan Am (now MetLife) building in N.Y.
