No mirrors or antenna in this ad.. Fender V8 indicates a 272 which would be extremely rare in a Fairlane Victoria. Of course it could be an early rendition or before the company made the Thunderbird V8 emblem part as it was used as a fender emblem on the 55.

Something had to run the camera. Might be a generator.

Thanks John. Sounds like a road trip. I've seen 4 so of his houses far.

Yes, the small engine powers a generator that is used to power the lights and the camera. There are two small fresnel lighting instruments mounted on the bar in front of the windshield. The camera also has an electric motor drive.

No, the camera would have required power. Some were DC powered, but most ran off of the AC power on the set. The sound would have been VERY secondary and most likely added in post production. In location shots like this they might have been recording sound, but the picture was WAYYYY more important and the sound may or may not have been exciting enough. I worked on more film shoots with cars and trucks racing around than I can list. I did everything from being the gennie op to location sound over the years.

The sound HAD to have been added after the filming, the Mustang up shifts about twenty times and never downshifts.
