Hey Mark, were there any accessories that this guy forgot?!!....
16 inch wheels.
Nothing ever bad about T & A selling a product.
Dodge used them more than other companies ! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Maybe that's the only way they could get any body to look at their products
The first shot is a pretty rare photo of George Amick at Terre Haute in 1957. I say rare because Amick seldom raced sprint cars anywhere. He had more of a midget background before going to Championship cars.
And I'm not sure of the track but this is a 1968 photo of Bobby Unser in the Rislone 3 followed by Jim Malloy in one of the first 4 Cam Ford Dirt Championship cars.
Thanks for the great photos, Rootie!
Well he did "do whatever he wanted to" but that contract clause was still there - so - if you can find old AMA District 37 records (there are some on-line) you will see an amateur rider, often finishing ahead of the experts, by the name of Harvey Mushman. That is the name Steve used in order to go on racing undetected by the studio bosses. Pretty much all his fellow AMA riders, and the fans as well, knew it was Steve McQueen.
You sure it ain't an HA Viva?
