This is on what is now Riverside Dr . There is Propane storage cavern blocks from this area that holds 8.5 million gallons these homes are now mostly long gone . The few that are remaining are selling for millions because the other side of the tracks is the Ohio River .
... Ah yeah, Jacky Wilkens and Otto Freidenshon, together known as The Tire Guys shown here just one day before they took off on their new Lincoln Highway adventure. They knew .. To have a Dependable Tire, that means it all "depends "on how many spares you can carry with you ! O.K. boys but don't forget to save room for your sleeping bags ...
Rootie, the first shot looks like an early '60s URC race but I don't recognize the track.
And the sports cars running on dirt tracks went on for a while back in the 1950s; especially in California. Could this be at Carrell Speedway? I think Phil Hill did some of these races early in his career.
The last attached photo shows Bobby Marshman and Arnie Knepper at (I think) Sacramento in 1964.
The track is Bedford Pa. not sure of the year though.
Yes the MGs are at Carrell Spwy. circa 1952.
Everyone afraid to comment?
