    Anybody know why they would paint that area blue?

    Hey that is my 6th grade teachers Mrs Perkins son. Or one of them, she had two and they both Drag Raced I forget which one had this car. :)

    I’ll take a guess, that the blue was added just to identify with white and blue that Melrose Motors identified with. The later Melrose Missile cars also included some combination blue and white in paint schemes. Even found old license plate frame online that has the blue/white combo.
