    I was at the Sacramento Mile late 1960 the chevys would run out power. Not that Ford Indy motor AL ran away. with it.

    Believed to be fastest road circuit in America during 1960's....3.2 miles. Entire 1100 acre racing complex had 6 different tracks and two more started but not finished. Also, golf course can be seen. Augusta International Speedway 1960 - 1970. Photo from 1963. Road circuit still in place.

    Jack Coonrod's 27 Tub, set the C/SR record in '59. In '61, he teamed up with Nick Nicholson, using Nick's blown 354 Chrysler, set the NHRA record in AA/SR.
