Post by Chris K. Hale on Dec 12, 2019 at 5:34am Bernard, This is a beautiful build, it has the absolute feel of what a "Hot Rod" should be. I like to see Hot Rod that fit into the LSR/Racer theme because in beginning they were all racers. here is a pic of my Dad in one of his early Hot Rods, looks to be in Kern County with the " Roadrunners Club " or " Sidewinders Club" probably mid to late 50's ? Also is a dragster he wrenched on for a friend. Enjoy !!
Who wouldn't have liked to drive this car to high school. This Olds belonged to Richard Martinez living in Ventura at the time. Richard mildly customized it. From Tony Bakers Book Hot Rodding in Ventura. Ron
Bud Hammers 50 Merc. A show winner was also a force at the drags, with a full house Mercury. Bud was a member of the Pharaohs car club.(Ventura Ca.) Picture from Tony Bakers book. Ron
This1932 Ford coupe was owned and built by Jim Harris. It was one of the best hot rods in Ventura Ca. during the 1950's. Jim painted the car in his high school shop class and installed a DeSoto engine out of a wrecked car. Picture is from Tony Bakers book Hot Rodding in Ventura. Ron
