I've seen more on here than I ever saw on the road, I never knew anyone that had one, maybe a great car ? swi66 sure loves them, he has a few listed in his profile page. I believe the only car that was done in totally by the press and Ralph Nader. Maybe swi66 could shed light on this subject.

 

Looks like a Midget motor/gearbox, carbs ?

 

Our son at 2, he’s 53 today. Our 53 Dodge pickup. The first pickup I bought after we were married in 1966. It was follow by many more red pickups. Started as a flathead 6 and 4 speed; ended up with a 1960 361” Chrysler and automatic. Kept the 60 wheel covers from the Chrysler too. I made the shell. Sold it in 1970 for a 56 GMC pickup.

Would occasionally get driven to school in a Corvair when weather was to cold to walk.
It did take some time for a Corvair to generate any heat.
