Don Edmunds in Gasoline Alley during the Month of May in 1957 with the Braund Plywood car. Don is listed in this car as Failed to Qualify or withdrew but Don did race in the 1957 Indianapolis 500 in a #92 car owned by Roy McKay and was listed as a Kurtis Offy and he was scored in 19th. The 1957 Indy 500 was won by Sam Hanks and it listed 19 cars that failed to qualify for the 33 car field. info/6 pictures, Bobby Marshall[IMG]

The Langhorne 100 in 1963 and that is Roger McCluskey in the Konstant Hot #14 Philipp/Offy owned by Bruce Homeyer and the car on the inside is Jim Hurtubise in the Competition Engineering car owned by Walter Meskowski and is a Meskowski/Chevy. Jim Hurtubise who ran 3rd in the Meskowski car was the only Chevrolet engine in the field. All of the other cars were Offy [IMG]

  18. Maybe if you would let your hair down we could take the Vette and not the Dodge convertible.

Ron, seeing that blue '65 Corvette reminded me of when I was a bout 13 or 14. My aunt came to introduce her new husband to us in their new '65 Blue with white interior white top convertible. I can picture it sitting in the driveway. Can't remember his name or what he looked like though, as he didn't hang around long.

Salt Flats, 1965. I remember seeing this neat street rod up there, I was on Craig's "Spirit of America Team", starting in late 1964, and worked for him for about four years. We had our share of problems with this car (the 4-wheel Sonic 1 "coke-bottle" shaped car.) The team was mostly made up of drag racers. The Crew Chief was Nye Frank (The "Freight Train" dragster with John Peters, and also the "Pulsator" dual Chevy digger with me and Bob Muravez in the photo on the left), Nye is standing inside the rear of the trailer. Kneeling beside him with the coffee cup is Paul Nicolini (The Sidewinder Dragster). This is the year that Breedlove broke the 600 MPH barrier (600.601 MPH). These were good times...

The coke bottle is known as the area rule. It decreases the drag in a trans sonic region.

I guess you cannot call her shorty anymore.
I wonder if this was the target market that GM was shooting for when they went to this design of the Corvette.
