Bruce Jacobi in the car they called "Basement Bessie" on a qualifying lap for the 1961 Hoosier 100. Bruce would miss the 18 car field, not for lack of trying IMO[IMG]

Jud Larson in the Dan Levine Federal Engineering #10 on the inside of Red Riegel in Pete Salemi's Central Excavating #81 during the Ted Horn Memorial on the DuQuoin Mile in DuQuoin Illinois. Jud Larson would finish 4th in the Meskowski/Offy and Red Riegel ran 6th in the Dunlop/Offy. Don Branson won this race and Jim McElreath was 2nd in John Zink's car.[IMG]

The Golden State 100 at the California State Fairgrounds Mile in Sacramento and that is Bobby Marshman helping Bobby Unser get set up in the Joe Hunt Magneto Champ Car. Maybe Bobby Unser's first USAC Championship Car race[IMG]

Jud Larson at the Iowa State Fair in 1963 in the Hawkeye Futurity which was his first race when he came back from the heart attack that kept him from racing for a couple of seasons.[IMG]

Bay Darnell at DuQuoin in 1965 at the Ted Horn Memorial in the Stoye Racing car owned by Adolph Stoye. Bay Darnell made the 1965 Ted Horn Memorial at DuQuoin in this car and he finished 9th in the 100 mile race. This car was built by Stoye and powered by an Offenhauser. [IMG]

I've seen this photo numerous times here on the HAMB, but this is the first time I noticed what looks like a roll bar behind the seat...

In the back room of the Ted Gotelli Speed Shop, the zoomie headers date the photo to '64-'65.
