Something I enjoy while looking through old magazines is seeing dealerships advertising the newest cars of the day, and especially those advertising their high performance models. I will start with one of my favorite dealerships where one of my favorite drivers worked. This is an Atwater Ford ad showing their new '63 Galaxie LW driven by Jake King. Keep it HAMB friendly please.
Not exactly what you're looking for, but I have this original 1954 Kaiser banner in my garage. It hung inside the dealership, in the showroom floor.
South State Chevrolet in Chester, South Carolina advertising the all new Impala with an optional all new Turbo-Thrust 348 C.I. V-8. The 335 horsepower solid lifter engine was just what some hot rod craving guys were looking for.
This is the funniest new car dealership TV commercial ever shot. It's the typical ad with the pitchman and the dog on the hood. After filming the commercial he did this take probably saying what he really thought about the guy who owned the dealership thinking it would be destroyed. IT WASN'T!!!!!!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDFeIPwrDrs
Ralph Williams was the midnight movie guy in So. Cal. in the late 60's early 70's. That commercial is the absolute best. That's truth in advertising.
Also one of the best two-way players the Leafs ever had. Also,to the OP: That was possibly the funniest commercial I have ever seen! The people losing their shit in the background just made it even funnier! Scott Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I can't believe that went right over my head the first time around....is that ever cool Scott Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
This is somewhat humorous. Back in the '50s it was not hard to get a new car dealership in a small town. This well established body shop in Chester S.C. was also the new car dealer for Pontiac and Nash.
Wonder if the Superbird ad is for 1970 or 1971...There were over 10 (13?) of them sitting at the dealer in my town. Did that body shop have anything to do with Nash and Pontaic going under?
here's the flip side....a record with "Ben".....thinking that's why the corner's were clipped......also I need flipping help....
