    Hello:

    Regarding a 1965 Cyclone street A/fx build:

I am seriously considering forgoing Cragar SS wheels for the rear end and instead investing in Magnesium American Racing 10 inch wide Torque Thrust Wheels in the more available 5x5 Bolt pattern in lieu of Ford 5x4.5 of which is seemingly impossible to find in Magnesium AR and HALIBRANDS.

Of concern is the 60's Golden age based following Questions.

I have noticed in my old mid 60's Magazines the authors mention Tire size width and liitle regard to rim diameter/width when chronicling A/FX and Gasser Drag Cars.

In High Horsepower applications would a larger bolt pattern be used such as 5x5 and 5x5.5 in lieu of small FORD 5x4.5? I simply cannot envision the legends launching with small bolt pattern wheels.

Would a REAR 16x10 Magnesium wheel be mostly a Top Fuel wheel or would Gassers and or A/FX machines run 16 inch diameter equaly to 15 inch diameter wheels?

Please input and thank you again.

Dont know but I do have 16x12 ARs on the back of my T coupe and they are in a 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
They bad thing about 12" wheels is that it`s hard to find a nice traditional, street suitable tire that will fit.

5x5 pattern was real popular due to the use of the early olds and pontiac rears.....use whatever you can find....and drill the axles to match.... brandon:D

By the end of 66 and into 67 the funny cars were switching to 16's so I say go for it.I'll be running 16x11's with M&H 16X12 nostalgia Racemasters on the rear of my A/FX

    Hello:

Can a all Magnesium wheel that has been drilled for "Bead Locks" be restored to original appearance? If so, how so?

    Thank You.

Regarding A/FX cars during the 1965 racing season:

Would the Cragar, AR, Halibrand be found in 10 inch wide rear wheel sizes on the 65 A/FX cars?

    TY again
