This is a neat vintage Hot Rod belt buckle that I picked up somewhere. The logo on the side of thecar looks like the block letter logo from Ho Rod magazine. Anyone know anything about it. It appears to have been originally plated.
Looks like HOT ROD to me instead of HO ROD,,but I'm sure there have been some HO's that have been for a ride in a HOT ROD! All jokin' aside,,that is one cool looking belt buckle,,I've never seen one like it. HRP
Nice bikes. I am planning on haveing mine restored to show it at the Muscle Car and Coorvette nationals in November.
I remember seeing ads in Hotrod Magazine for those belt buckles. They did offer them. Not really rare as I have seen quite a few of them over the years at swapmeets. Neat piece for sure. Have not seen any in quite a few years though. They must all be in display cases at the moment.
I have seen 5 or 6 different styles of those. Same hot rod car on each but different buckles and different company names on the back. Some where plated but most I have seen are not They are not all in cases---- I have one on a belt !
.. if you put them up side by side on your screen you can see the steering wheel one is much more detailed, guess the belt buckle got lots of use. that ^^^ was in a Model A Roadster at Bakersfield a couple years back..
