It seems that everywhere automobile apparel is sold, the 'hot' items are vintage looking. They distress a logo, slap it on a new hat or t-shirt and market it as "vintage looking". This made me wonder how many hambers own and collect true vintage automobile related hats, shirts, jackets, patches? Post 'em if you got 'em !

We used to boil our Dad's old hats, and stretch them on the fence post. There was a kid a few blocks away that would put Ed Roth style art on them for us. I wish I had pictures, or one of the hats. They were really cool. We called them hillbilly hats.

@Moriarity , Mark. We need to have an intermission. Have you ever noticed there are 12 steps to get the help you need and coincidentally 12 icons on Ryan's tool bar?

Right now you are at upload_2020-12-1_18-17-16.png and I think we need to aim for a nice upload_2020-12-1_18-18-52.png someday we may go as high as upload_2020-12-1_18-21-21.png ...but I don't know what that might do to you.

Good Guys used to book Pure Hell for the show at Indy back in the ‘90’s. The car is my all time favorite F/A, so we go to their pit so I can get a shirt. Crew guy says, Sorry, sold out. Guasco yells to him “Give him a crew shirt.”
A treasured memento, never have worn it.

I have so much old crappy clothing it's dumb. But hardly any hot rod stuff. Vintage wool is the best at keeping warm during the Michigan winters...and I have plenty!

    You raise an interesting question.
I recreate old racing decals and that is also the way I sell them as reproductions!
I received a phone call one day from a customer asking me if the decals I sell are originals and I told him NO

I explained to him that they are recreating using vector graphics from an old image.

He told me he only want an original from the 60's so I gave him the name of a collector who might have the decal he was looking for and he thanked me.

He called me back a few days later and told me he had indeed talked the collector and he had the correct old water transfer decal but he wanted $150.00 for it!
The guy ordered the decal/sticker from me for $7.50 instead.

Yeah, that's a big price difference. A friend of mine has been looking for some racing related patches to do a jacket up with. He said that the patches out there are outrageously priced, and there are very few repops available.
