LEE, I figured....thought I'd stir the pot. I'm an old fart that means old school, in my day ear rings were for girls. I'm sure he is a heck of a race driver, I just don't like his ear ring. (how do I put a smiley here).....Denny Z

Stir away. I don't get the ear ring thing either. By the way that's Steve Buckwalter with ear ring, he's a hell of a drivers and he got the feature win.

I got introduced to the Cagless Midget Thread by Denny Zimmerman....what a great site with lots of neat pictures. I hope tht I can contribute with some ARDC pictures from the late 40's early 50's

Great childhood days had me traveling as a youngster with my Dad who was co owner of the Lataille-Miller Offy driven by Johnny (Viola) Rice and later by Charlie Eithier.

Back in those days they were 7 nights a week including tracks like Candlelight Stadium, Bridgeport Ct, Cherry Park, West Springfield, Menands, Rinebeck, West Haven, Freeport, Lonsdale, Civic Stadium, Westboro, Danbury.....and more.

Glad to be a member of this site.

Welcome aboard, RacingRay. Gonna love seeing some of your pics! I've been in touch with the daughter of George Rice almost weekly. Between her and photographer John DaDalt, I was able to get enough info on George Rice to nominate him for the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of fame, and he was inducted this pasat January.

I ownder if that August 10th race at Middletown won by Roger Bailey, in a car owned by Rowland -if I was there that day. I remember Roger winning the race during the fair in a # 68 - believe it was dark blue & white.

About the only difference that I can think of might be that he had "California Speed" + on the right side of the cars hood.

I'll have to contact Ralph Laino, down in Florida as far as program covers go. He sent me a bunch of covers, and I took photos of them with my digital. Since I'm kind of a "Dufus" as far as posting photos here, and since I can't copy and paste the ones I have, if anyone wants me to e-mail them - ee-mail me at: [email protected] and I'll send them to you, as an attachment.
